The CAR-PGa (The Committee for the
Advancement of Role-Playing Games) is an organization based in Texas that
works towards the common good of RPGs and the people who play them. Membership
is earned through volunteer work, rather than monetary dues. This type
of work can include:
-
Writing a letter to the editor (LTE)
of a local newspaper.
-
Writing a peer-reviewed paper for a
scholarly publication.
-
Keeping watch on the mass media for
any story that may affect gamers.
-
Collecting material from anti-gamer
organizations.
-
Appearing on behalf of RPGs on television
or radio.
-
Finding a grant for CAR-PGa.
-
Recruiting more active members.
...as well as other functions. It is
also asked that members keep the Chairperson posted on these efforts in
order to make the material available to the rest of the group.
CAR-PGa Newsletter
|
| CAR-PGa publishes the CAR-PGa
Newsletter, a monthly publication that briefs members and non-members
alike on the recent happenings within the group. The subscription is $10.00
per year in the U.S. and Canada, $13.50 elsewhere. You don't need
to be a member to subscribe, and a subscription is not required to be a
member.
CAR-PGa also has an extensive Literature
List of articles concerning the gaming debates. These can be had for
the cost of printing and postage. If you need some information on a certain
case, this is the best place to go.

CAR-PGa "Cocktail"
|
| We call our introductory information
pack the "Cocktail" because it's kind of like a good fruit salad; a little
bit of everything, all mixed up. This is the basic information pack that
you would get from CAR-PGa if you were to write to them requesting membership;
here, you can download it as a textfile and have the info and a membership
form directly. To download it, click on the link below:
