We're a bunch of people
who play make-believe in our spare time. We play heroes and villains,
protagonists and antagonists, movers and shakers. But when the cowboy
hat comes off, we're not cowboys anymore, and we go back to being
the character that we've always been since birth.
Gamers are often people
who are eager to brag at length about their favorite RPG character,
without letting anyone know very much about the character that they've
always been, long before they picked up their first twenty-sider.
Tell Me About Your Character is a weekly column that spotlights
a role-playing enthusiast, gives us some details about what they
do in real life, and then allows them to boast about their favorite
RPG character, too.
On the surface, it's
a series of human-interest interviews where people who share a hobby
get to talk about the subjects that are most important to them.
Over time, it will become a study in the diversity of role-players,
and show that we are much more than just a bunch of geeks who like
to play pretend and roll funny dice.
It's a self-serve interview,
where you get to choose which questions you would like to answer,
then submit your responses along with a picture. If you feel you
would like to participate, the instructions and interview questions
are available for download in your choice of format: RTF
- TXT
- DOC
The desired result is
to show what a diverse group of people play RPGs, and the better
the response, the better the result. So spread the word to anyone
who would be interested. All of us look forward to hearing about
your character!
