About a quarter of the world away from where I am now.
Tell us about your favorite RPG character that
you've ever played. The Good Doctor Jean Doughali.
Deadlands Classic. A Jamaican-born immigrant to New Orleans,
who practiced VooDoo. His chosen Loa was Ogu, who liked
loud noises and swearing. So I got to swear a whole lot
in a Jamaican accent, and carry a shotgun. Which he wasn't
very good at. |
|
|
He eventually was turned into a woman, changed his/her
name to Jeanette,
and upon dying was brought back Harrowed and sewn into
the torso of another
PC. His worst nightmare was being devoured by all of
the chickens he had to
use in his VooDoo rituals.
What are your favorite RPGs? Deadlands
(Wasted & Weird West),
Cyberpunk 2020, GURPS, Buffy.
What was your first RPG session like?
D&D 1E, in my treehouse. I don't
remember anything about it at all, except for orcs.
|
|
What
was your WORST RPG session like? GURPS Fantasy.
We had to wipe out an entire town, to get an evil warlord
on our side to stop the other three warlords who were
invading our dimension. It was all for the greater good,
I promise. So we poisoned the water supply. The holy
man of a nearby city was coming to heal the sick. So
we had to stop him.
We concocted
a devious plan involving an invisible Minotaur standing
next to the road, a Lizardman in the bushes next to
him, and the rest of us hiding in the nearby woods.
We would rush out to attack after the others softened
them up.
We all had
to get going soon, but it was cut & dry, we figured
we'd be out within 30-45 minutes. Someone even said
"how long can combat take?" |
|
|
Well, three hours and 15 critical failures later, the
Lizardman was knocked out in a nearby field (from the
minotaur's first attack, the first critical failure),
the minotaur was searching for his body, everyone except
for me was inside an invisible globed forcefield, and
I was invisible and
bleeding to death. How long can combat take, indeed...
Who
is your all-time favorite person to game with?
My friend Brennan. He's a great GM, has some amazing
ideas. And running a PC alongside him is great fun as
well. He was the one I was sewn to in Deadlands.
Do
you have anything gaming-related to plug? I'm
looking for another person to game with, if there is
anyone else in this town who games.
