| Main > CAR-PGa > CAR-PGa Support Page The CAR-PGa Support Page
There are several ways you can show the CAR-PGa your
support outside of spreading the word. The most obvious is through direct monetary
donations. Before making such a donation, it should be noted that it will not be
tax-deductible. Nevertheless, anyone willing to give financial aid to the CAR-PGa
should send their check to CAR-PGa, c/o Paul Cardwell, 1127 Cedar, Bonham, TX 75418.
Make the check out in Paul's name.
Another way to help is through material donations.
One of the greatest needs of the group is a direct online presence. Our
chairperson has no internet connection; all correspondence must reach him by mail or
phone. While we can set him up with Netzero to get him connected at no
cost, we still need to get his modem working to do so. In order to get that done, we
require a CD-ROM drive that will work with a Mac Centris 610. If anyone has a CD-ROM
to donate (and some experience with Macintosh), please contact Paul at the above
address. While we're making a wish list, a fax machine and scanner would be nice as
well... again, contact Paul if you have something you'd like to donate (and that you
think we could use).
The easiest way to help us financially is by doing your
online shopping through this page. You can make a donation to the CAR-PGa while
shopping for books, CDs, videos, toys, and more. Here is how it works: The companies
listed below sponsor "affiliate" or "associate" programs. By visiting
their site from the links I have provided, and then purchasing items from their site, you
are donating a percentage of your purchase to the CAR-PGa. The cost is the same; the
donation comes directly out of the profits of the company involved.
It's imperative that you follow the links that I have supplied below, otherwise the
transaction will not go through as it should.
This money will go towards the many projects in which the CAR-PGa is involved; gaming
advocacy, research, and representation.
You can link directly to the companies by clicking on the links below, or scroll down
further to visit "Bill's Picks," where you can find some items that receive my
personal seal of approval. In some cases, linking to one of these picks will garner
a higher percentage of payback.
Do you know about any affiliate
programs that I should include? Please let me know!
BILL'S PICKS:
Every so often, I will add two new picks to this list, one to the "Gaming
Picks," and another to the "General Picks" list, so check back often to see
what's on the list!
BILL'S GAMING PICKS: These are
gaming-related items. More than just RPG books fit into this category; I also plan
on including videos, CDs, and other books here. Click on the name of the product to
purchase it or find out more. The company name in parenthesis after the title tells
you where you will be going when you click the link.
| Changeling: The
Dreaming |
(Amazon.com) The best of the World of Darkness series,
as well as one of the best RPGs ever written, in my humble opinion. Characters play
Changelings, the hybrids of humans and the long lost fae, who live a life of adventure
among the banal mortals around them... kind of a game about gamers, when you think about
it! The potential for action, romance, and politics is high, and you aren't stuck
with so much of that goth-angst aftertaste! |
BILL'S GENERAL PICKS: Stuff that
doesn't have anything to do with gaming (is that possible?), yet still deserves your
attention. Click on the name of the product to purchase it or find out more.

Sometimes
God Hides (CDNow): A collection of artists on the Discipline label, headed by Robert
Fripp (who is best known as the mastermind behind King Crimson). This CD is a
collection of artists on the label, most of whom have had some connection to Crimson or
Fripp in the past. Prog-rock that has grown up and moved out of mom and dad's
basement. Once you're hooked, check out the second volume, Sometimes
God Smiles. |

My
Neighbor Totoro (The Right Stuf): An excellent work of anime from Studio Ghibli, the
same people who brought us Kiki's Delivery Service. Two young girls move into a new home
to find it filled with many wondrous creatures. Excellent for children of all ages.
My oldest daughter, Aylish, loves this one... and won't stop collecting acorns.
You'll find out why. |

Scrabble
50th Anniversary Edition (Amazon.com): This one is here for Paula, my favorite
Scrabble nut. I bought her this set last Christmas and it's very nice, with a
digital timer and rotating board with grooves to hold the tiles in place. A classy
piece of work. Get it for your favorite Scrabble nut. |
